The Royal Horse Guards (the Blues), now called the Blues and Royals, on amalgamation with the 1st Dragoons in March 1969 adopted the old Royal Horse Guards (the Blues) stable belt. In the regiment the colours of the belt are referred to as Blue, Red, Blue.
