Do you know the colours of the stable belt of this regiment, ' The Buffs' (Royal East Kent Regiment)?
If so, can you send an image to be used on the website?
Did ' The Buffs' actually have a stable belt?
SUGGESTIONS - WHICH ONE OF THE BELOW IS CORRECT?
blue and minty green
INFORMATION
The belt shown was worn by The "Queen's Own Buffs" Blue with Buff centre. I am sure it was the same as the belt from the "The Buffs". The Queen's Own Buffs, being an amalgamation of the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment & The Buffs
The Buffs had a stable belt of Royal Blue, Buff and Royal Blue in equal width stripes, with a leather straps and buckles worn on the left-hand side. The same stable belt was used by the Queen's Own Buffs after amalgamation on 1 March 1961 until the formation of The Queen's Regiment on 31 December 1966. Your picture of the Queen's Own Buffs stable belt is correct except that the colours are inaccurate, appearing to be too greenish. As a former Regular officer in The Buffs, and later the Queen's Own Buffs (and The Queen's Regiment), I still have a Buffs/ Queen's Own Buffs stable belt in my possession ...........With thanks to JJW
