GIRDLES

Most Regiments had a girdle - this fact is little known because they were only worn with “Patrol Dress”, that was blues without Sam-Browne, a ceremonial variety of dress only worn in the company of the monarch or her direct rep and by staff Officers. This was ranged out in the 70`s. They are similar to Stables Belts, but of a richer material and normally not adjustable (tailored).
