These two belts show the colours of The Royal Army Dental Corps and Royal Engineers.
They have brass three lobe clasps
Any explanation on the use of these unusual buckles would be welcome (were they worn by the military?)

My dad wore a version of his standard stable belt (RADC Surgery belt) with a three lobe buckle with his surgical white tunic in the late sixties and early seventies
