I served with the East Surrey Regiment 1957/58 and all ranks wore a stable belt. Both at the depot and with the battalion. It was during my National Service that I transferred to the Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment and it was only the Officers who wore them whereas in The East Surrey Regiment they were worn by all ranks.
