THE ROYAL HOSPITAL CHELSEA

The Chelsea Pensioners themselves do wear a Royal Hospital stable belt, when in undress uniform in the grounds and obviously underneath their scarlet coats etc at other times. However they can also wear their old regimental belts instead should they so wish

The belt and Hospital tie are of the same pattern and basically reflects the uniform colours of Scarlet and Dark Blue (nigh on Black)

The buckle plate is chromed with a hospital button mounted centrally as a badge,In Pensioners (IPs) do not wear RH cap badges but again in the Hospital grounds they can wear their old regimental badges in what we call the lounge cap. Many IPs replace the RH button on the belt plate with a Regimental badge
